    I bought this book so I could read up on Alaskan history before our cruise this summer, and I was worried I made a poor choice. Klondike Fever is a brick of a book at about pages. If it was in hardcover, I could use it as a weapon. It was also written back in the s/5(8). His book was, and still is, regarded as one of the best non-fiction histories of the Klondike gold rush. Seemingly, the only part the film used from his fantastic book, was the title. He felt They had tricked him, and he fought like the dick'ins to get his name taken off .

I wholeheartedly recommend them by: The Klondike Fever is an amazing tale of bravery, perseverance, loyalty, averice, betrayal, greed, and above all folly. Berton (born in the Yukon) knows his stuff, and the stories he relates are considerably different from the stories you hear at the 'museums' of Skagway and Ketchikan when Pierre Berton is among my three favorite history writers/5.

Klondike Fever was a good read. Enjoyed the Canadian - Mountie connection, which is a nice change from my typical historical western location and characters. My wish. That there was Klondike Fever book adventure and interaction with the Mountie / outlaw throughout the book.
