The instructions are created and compiled by The Pattern Jury Instruction Committee, made up of trial judges assisted by the School of Government. The NC Pattern Jury Instructions Committee creates and compiles the North Carolina Pattern Jury Instructions.

These are sample jury instructions that judges can use for cases and provide juries with guidance for reaching decisions in particular cases.
